Thanks, Judy. I have worked my way through the list once and will work my way through it again. Just have a couple of questions that can wait. Thank you for your patience and expertise. There was a train wreck in the making, which, thanks to you, looks like it is not going to happen.

You're welcome Ed. Well the signal lights were certainly flashing, happy I could help you make the "safety gates" drop down.

Definitely a lot accomplished. Scans come back no threats.

    CC:
    1. Nothing checked in Advanced CC ?
    2. Ever use Drive Wipe?

    Starter:
    1. Why no Blaster? Is it running?
    2. Checked are:
    a. Anti Phishng
    b. ASP Daemon
    c. AVGNT Avira
    d. Super Anti Spy
    e. USB3 MON
    (that's all.)

Last, am I always going to see the Startup Program window after booting Mozilla?

    CC:
    1. Nothing checked in Advanced CC ? Correct, NOTHING Checked there. Leave it like that.
    2. Ever use Drive Wipe? No I have not and don't know anyone that has, leave it alone

    Starter:
    1. Why no Blaster? Is it running? SpywareBlaster does NOT run. Here is the explanation from their website: SpywareBlaster is passive protection. It plugs the holes that spyware and other potentially unwanted software use to get in to your system. As such, there is no running process - and no CPU and memory usage either.
    2. Checked are:
    a. Anti Phishng>>>I have no idea what this process is from, certainly not any of those I had you install. I would uncheck it since we don't know what it is, may be left over from one of those things you removed.
    b. ASP Daemon>>>Apple Application Support, you'll have to decide
    c. AVGNT Avira>>>this is Avira of course it MUST run.
    d. Super Anti Spy>>>this is SAS and it must stay.
    e. USB3 MON>>>USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller Driver
    (that's all.)

Last, am I always going to see the Startup Program window after booting Mozilla?
What Startup Program window???? You mean CodeStuff Starter? It has nothing to do with Firefox. Not sure what you mean by this, can you give me a printscreen?

Judy: I uninstalled Code Stuff Starter. The WOT was not comfortable with the Tripod download site. I ran Superspy after reinstalling it. Superspy then found six tripod files to delete
and WOT popped up an "untrustworthy" seal. So I uninstalled it. OK if I put off Start Menu management for the time being?

Are you comfortable with making a system image for restore purposes at this stage? The vendor will take me and the machine through this if and when
the system is clean. I feel it will never run better than it is running now.

Not until you answer my question from last night,
    You Said:
Last, am I always going to see the Startup Program window after booting Mozilla?
    And I asked you:

Cose stuff Starter had installed a shortcut in the Start menu.It was the only file in the start menu. When I started the computer, the directory window from the Hard drive
    C: would show up
    /Startup/
and the contents displayed were the program, a link to the download mirror web site, and a read me.
    I can't do a printscreen.

    When I click Explorer>All Programs>
I show a folder named "Startup."
In that folder is a program named "Hotkey"
In that folder, to the best of my knowledge, was also a shortcut to Codestuff, before I uninstalled it.
    When I click on C Drive> Programs
I find no folder named "Startup."

CodeStuff didn't do this and Mozilla didn't do this, this is a new feature of Windows 7. Virtually ANY program you have used in the recent past may have its icon placed into that Start Menu.

Right click the icon on whatever it is you don't want there and choose Unpin from Start Menu or Remove from this List.

If you don't want this feature it is easily turned off. Right Click anywhere in the Start Menu and choose Properties. When Properties opens go to the Start Menu button and remove the check marks from the boxes which say; Store and Display Recently Opened Programs in the Start Menu and Store and Display Recently Opened Programs in the Start Menu and In the Taskbar

    Done.
Then do you want me to reinstall CodeStuff Starter?
