Re: vacation send me money scam

I don't wish to sound defensive, but I didn't mention my considerable army
of anti spyware and malicious protection as I assumed everyone on this NG
would be similarly protected. I am scanned by Malwarebytes Pro and SuperAnti
Spyware every day. Plus I use MS Security Essentials at all times and have
had no problems for the last fifteen years.
This is why I asked for advice.

No problem, I only asked because had you not had such protection you
would want to change those passwords using another machine. Some
keyloggers are thought to be providing scammers with passwords for
social media accounts and webmail and sending out this very scam. If you
change the passwords while using a compromised machine you have gained
nothing. Also, it is suggested that you change the "Forgot Your
    Password" special question also.

Thank-you very much for your kind interest FTR. For the information of
anyone else. BT has just spent three hours checking my computer and
re-setting everything including passwords for me. They found the hacker, or
his methods, and fixed it for me. My advice is now to let your provider do
this for you if you have a similar problem in future. I certainly shall.
They could not have been more helpful and patient.

It's nice to know that BT has such good customer service. I used to work
in customer service and know what an effort it can be.

    Good Morning Quilljar.

Can you provide any details about the methods used and the fixes?

I found your comment about BT most interesting, 'Quilljar'. May I ask
what they charged for this service? Can you provide a link, please, to a
page where this service is advertised? Thanks.

I think "BT" is the BT Group or one of its divsion which is the
poster's ISP, the largest ISP in the UK. Support is included with
    Internet service.
