    My Computer Issues

    Hi Folks,

For many years and through 2 laptops I have experienced instances where my computer mouse pointer seems to act uncontrollaby on its own. Clicking, scrolling, opening many other instances of open apllications, all at lightning speed.

I pull the power plug and reboot and everything is fine.

Lately (in the last few days)these instances have happened much more frequently.

I am with sympatico.ca and seem to have the same IP address from day to day.

I run/have spybot,Avira free is active, just purchased Malwarebytes PRO to run realtime protection, subscribed to iPrivacyTools and installed "IP Changer" software (although it seems to slow down ie8 considerably)

The only things that show up from scans are cookie trackers in Spybot.

I have a NAT Router behind DSL modem on a home network of 5 computers and 2 wireless tablets

It is as if someone knows my IP and unleashes this attack, usually as I am surfing, with some sort BOT that takes over.

Sometimes it won't happen for months, but just lately 3-4 times a day.

I swear it hit the undo button in excel (while I left the machine unattended) and I lost work twice yesterday -am I going crazy!!! That never happened before.

This "thing" has followed me as I said for many year and through 2 Dell laptops Win XP and Win7. The only consistent thing is ISP sympatico.ca.

Any reccomendations as to what I should do? I sure need some help. Nothing since Malwarbytes PRO installed, but that was just last night.

I even went wireless on my main machine and now turn antenna off when I leave the machine. During an attack I shut wireless off and it seemed to stop, but then again another time it continued.

    HELP!!!

Please don't reply to yourself (especially with multiple copies) reply to
    those who reply to you.

Oh, a Google Grouper - explaans all :-(

If you use a wireless mouse and someone who is near you using a wireless
mouse oin the same channel might affect your mouse.

Use a wired mouse and see how that goes.

I am the only one with a wireless mouse -5-6 years this has benn going on -I am pretty sure with all the different mice and computers I have used it is not a mouse issue. (soory I used the wrong post reply button last time -I think).

I strongly doubt this is a malware issue. The fact that I believed you may
have a wireless mouse and you admitted you do confirms my suspicions. I
have seen this issue surface before. Admittedly the new Logitech wireless
mice are more resilient against this problem it must be eliminated from the
list of possibilities. Using a wired mouse will eliminate this as a
    possibility.

Hospital equipment can also cause interference, have you looked into
    that angle - EMI?

Bottom line - your problem doesn't sound like a software issue
(malware/spyware). Try a wired mouse as David has suggested, the process
of elimination is a powerful troubleshooting tool.

Yes, that's a good point that some other EMI/RFI equipment can interfere.
Albeit, it probably would jam the mouse transmission rather than cause
    erratic behaviour. But, its possible.

I have seen radio-telephones (the type that plug into a base unit to keep
the hand-set charged and wirelessly connect back to the base unit) often
kill DSL connections. A clam-shell, ferrite, toroidal filter is good for
filtering out the RFI from the twisted pair POTS wiring. Just open the
torroid clam, wrap the telephone line around the core and the snap the
toroid closed. Since it is a common mode filter, it doesn't effect the
Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) used in DSL.
