    It is a perfectly legal file found on most computers running Windows. You may not Like MS files but if you run Windows you likely need them. This file is included with the operating systems and other MS products along with many files used by the computer manufacturer files also.
    Don't rely on Wikipedia to give you fully answers for everything.

    I understand that, what I need to know is if I can get rid of it. I use no MS Office products, no SDK software and have Win XP stripped of all unnecessary Windows Components, like: MSN Games, Messenger, Outlook Express, Movie maker, No Silverlight, no Windows Live and no .NET framework.

    I also have current Ghost 2003 full primary partition IMAGE backups. So I can fix any damage I might do in about 2.5 minutes.
