Thread: Type "illuminati" backwards followed by .com into your browser . . .

Type "illuminati" backwards followed by .com into your browser . . .

Type "illuminati" backwards followed by .com into your browser . . .

    itanimulli.com

Someone's idea of a joke, obviously.

The NSA need not have anything to do with this.

HTTP request to itanimulli.com results in a 301 "error?" -> Moved
    Permanently to www.nsa.gov.

No visible whois info for that domain.

    BUT

It was created back in 2002. It's costing someone some good coin to
    keep up the gag.

Apparently, this is the backstory for itanimulli.com:

Thanks for posting this! I finally have the answer to a clue used in a
hidden treasure puzzle I worked on for five years back in the eighties!
The NSA site has a link to a cryptologic museum right next to Ft. George
    G. Meade ... < -- the clue. Doesn't help now, and it would not have
helped to solve the puzzle, but it does solve the mystery of why that
name was used in the puzzle.

I gave it a sort-of "gee whiz", but the message did not show as posted
from Eternal-September. If this goes through, I'll repost the first one.

I've mentioned before that because of my 20+ years of active service in
the Royal Navy I qualified for continuing service with MI5 (rather like
    007) but decided to help on a non-contractual basis without accepting
further Government funds. I do, though, keep in close contact with 'the
    authorities'.

Okay ... I watched the Cyber Defense Exercise video. It *was* very
interesting! I wonder what has given West Point the advantage over the
course of the contests? I was glad to see the winner from last year. (I
won't say who ... in case others want to watch.) The one team (still
keeping it to myself) was too laid-back in their attitude to ever win
    the competition. [g]
