    Assuming your NNTP server even does binary groups. I believe
    that mine doesn't (Eternal-September).

    If one were to spend any significant amount of time fielding questions
    where screenshots would be helpful, keeping a little PNG of every
    dialog on a hosting site and walking users through it with links to
    pictures would be an efficient way to do it. One could even write
    templates for the most frequently asked questions.

    It does, but very few, and uploads are limited to 1000KB.
