Search-query hijacks and redirection: What you need to know!

    By Michael Kassner
    September 6, 2011, 6:12 AM PDT

Takeaway: Do you trust the results returned from your chosen search
engine? Michael Kassner looks into search engine hijacking and redirection.

I never used to give search results a second thought as to validity. The
responses I got seemed to fit what I asked for. That changed, when I was
working on the article, “Why is my Internet different from your Internet?”

    Good article! :-)

Try Chrome if you're not getting it to work with FFx.

How is Chrome (or Firefox) supposed to help?

I believe it works *only* with FireFox!

When computers connect to a site with TLS or SSL authentication, a
certificate is issued which verifies the site's identity to the web browser.

Fake certificates could allow someone to *spy* on a user's activity.

I'm still waiting for someone to explain how this helps stop "Search-query
    hijacks and redirection".
