Has the advice *changed* in the interim?

    If so, *how* and *why*?

answers.MS is a MS sanctioned webforum populated by MS MVPs.

The forum - a forum post - distinguishes between those help sites which
are ASAP http://asap.maddoktor2.com/ approved and those help sites which
    are not ASAP approved.

In this 2009 May thread (now 27 months old) Vincenzo Di Russo provided
the initial guidance as well as additional advice about posting HJT logs
to several forums he mentioned; but then Corinne came along and gave
alternate advice^1 and was the one promoting ASAP sites over non-ASAP.

Corinne: ASAP Member Forums Providing Log Analysis

Personally, I've never heard of some of the ASAP sites listed, which far
outnumbered the non-ASAP sites she posted. Examples of non-ASAP,
    bleepingcomputer, spywarewarrrior, aumha.

So, my question is; what is up with this ASAP business in the view of
    the denizens of a.p.s?

    <from ASAP website>
    ASAP's goals are:

    * To ensure a high standard and quality of security support no
    matter where you seek help.
    * To recommend in an equal and fair manner products available to
keep your computer clean and safe, regardless of pricing.
    * To ensure that end users are not affected by so called "product
wars" and unfair marketing tactics, which have plagued several
    industries in recent years.
