The evidence 'suggests' that The Fake Truth is a *thief*. Why do you
keep bringing up the subject of Butts? The whole world knows he is a
thief; why won't *you* believe it?

If you were smart, you would know that many MVPs have their own
individual sub-domains at mvps.org, and only the 'winhelp2002' site
is the one that deals with the HOSTS file.

They don't want to *steal* it like ButtFace did.

MBAM does not use or modify the hosts file in their program so that is not
an issue. Their IP blocking data comes from hosts-file.net and my IP is on
that list but using MBAM you can unblock it.

    They can indeed, but ......

Because of its role in local name resolution, the hosts file represents
an attack vector for malicious software. The file may be hijacked, for
example, by adware, computer viruses, trojan horse software, and may be
modified to redirect traffic from the intended destination to sites
hosting content that may be offensive or intrusive to the user or the
user’s computer system. The widespread computer worm Mydoom.B blocked
users from visiting sites about computer security and anti-virus
software and also affected users' ability to access the Microsoft
    Windows Update website.

The evidence suggests that TRT is *not* a *Microsoft* MVP

Btw, *this* site http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm *has nothing to
do with Microsoft* - it says so at the bottom of the page! Viz:

"Microsoft and or MVPS.org are in no way affiliated with, nor offers
    endorsement of, this site."

Strangely, there is no mention of a Hosts file either here
    http://mvps.org/ or here http://mvps.org/links.html

AFAIK, there's no way to determine whether or not good guys or *bad*
guys are in charge of producing the download at this URL
http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm I suppose it is *impossible* for
one to be downloading more than one bargained for, eh? Out of interest,
    exactly who checks?

The 'Contact address' provided is "winhelp2002@gmail.com" which could,
of course, be anyone ...... *anywhere*! <nods>

    **

"Malwarebytes recently completed the acquisition of hpHosts, a popular
and trusted blacklist of malicious websites, ad servers and tracking
    servers." See http://www.hosts-file.net/

Does anyone know why Malwarebytes didn't opt to utilise the MVPs Hosts
    file instead?

Food for thought? (or just ridicule?)

Surely some other folk consider such possibilities, don't they? Or does
    the herd instinct prevail? <wonders>

As an MVP you can elect not to have a public profile on that site and choose
that option because of trolls. I on the other hand have my profile public.
The reason the trolls cannot find it is because they still think my real
name is pcbutts1 or Chris butts or whatever name they gave me. Since they
are all wrong doing a search comes up nothing. I KNOW what my name is so how
the **** do the trolls think they know it. Anyone who believes them is an
idiot. Oh and if I was not an MVP then MS would not let me claim it on my
    website.

    Easy question.

Why cannot this fellow - Ramesh Srinivasan - be found here?

    https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/co...esh+Srinivasan

I admit I find it interesting to learn that the site belongs to one
individual. Somehow I had a notion that it was a team effort to produce
    the Hosts file.

The MVPS file installs with a standard DOS batch file, that you can open and
see the steps in a basic text editor, before you run it.
So there is nothing "hidden" or "mallicious"

I occasionally have some issues with a few of the entries, but it's simple
enough to change them when I want

    Thanks.

That doesn't really answer the question of why this particular
    individual - Ramesh Srinivasan - isn't listed.

It doesn't seem that he's trying to hide. See here .....

WE all know who you are. The only person that doesn't know who you are
is you. Seriously, get some help.

Denial is not a river in Africa.

Denial is a defense mechanism postulated by Sigmund Freud, in which a
person is faced with a fact that is too uncomfortable to accept and
rejects it instead, insisting that it is not true despite what may be
    overwhelming evidence.
