I did write and thank Bear Bottoms - he was, indeed, very helpful.

One of the things which puzzled me, once before, was this item from the
    Malwarebytes payment site:-

    "Includes 2.61 VAT (19% on 13.72)"

VAT has *never* been levied at 19% in the UK!

Can you explain to me why Malwarebytes conducts its financial business
in Europe proper when they are actually USA based (I think!)? I'm
interested because, as many folk know, I was an Independent Financial
Adviser after my career in the Royal Navy.

FYI, VAT rates are published here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Europea...alue_Added_Tax

You should do that more often, instead of sliming people. I don't mean
slime in a good way either. You sure aren't a double dare green slime.

Nope, I cannot explain that. Ask them.

Heh.. That would be a small problem for you wouldn't it? LOL!

We both know you have other accounts on the forum, why not just use one
    of those and inquire?

Time you started doing your own ****ing homework, ****.

"The VAT rate charged is between 15% and 25% and is determined by the
    customer’ s
country of residence in EU. The supplier has the obligation to check if
    the corporate
customer has a VAT registration number and decide whether or not a
    contract should be
charged with VAT. Customers with valid VAT ID should not be charged by
    the supplier."

Between 15% and 25%, ****. 19% is within that range.

Why bother to respond if you cannot answer the question?

Thanks for the reference - but I *do* know about VAT. It was quite clear
in the Wiki article too, IMO.

"Why does Malwarebytes conducts its financial
business in Europe proper when they are actually USA based?"

Neither he, nor you, addressed that question. <shrug>

It's a straight-forward question too - simply out of general interest.
Is there some financial advantage in them doing so? Are rules in Germany
less stringent than in the USA?

I did answer it, ****. VAT on software varies between 15% and 25%.

Apparently not, or you wouldn't have asked in the first place, ****.
