I didn't read it the same way as you. He's free to state his beliefs as
he pleases I suppose. He believes he is a "Good Guy" too remember. )

Had he said in the second part "He knows full well that what they do is
illegal, but 'he does' it anyway!" I believe you would have a case.

Bottom line, just more slimy innuendo IMO.
