Well, *maybe* not a solution, but I did manage to get the account created
and it comes up clean. I couldn't quite do it like the document said
because it wanted me to run the command prompt from Windows. But I
couldn't run anything in Windows. However, theres a "Safe Mode with
Command Prompt".
It worked from there.
So thank you very much for that. I'll add that to my bag of tricks. I may
be able to fix it from there. I'm going to try Dave's idea first because
I need to get the drive out so I can get all the documents and stuff of
it before I lose it all.
