    Cannot connect to avisynth.org website

I cannot connect to avisynth.org website via Firefox or IE9. However,
I can get to it via the anonymizer site hidemyass.com.

    URL: http://www.avisynth.org

Firefox: The connection has timed out. The server at www.avisynth.org
is taking too long to respond.

    IE9: http://www.org.com/?not_found=www.www.avisynth.org.com
www.www.avisynth.org.com was not found on our servers. www.org.com is
    shown below.

Malwarebytes Antimalware and MSSE scans show no infections on my
CCleaner cleaned 32-bit Vista sp2 system. Comcast is my ISP. Can
someone make sense of this behavior for me, or point me to a more
appropriate newsgroup or forum if needed? Thanks.

Launching URL above in FF 3.6 gives me
a short simple error webpage that Avisynth site is in trouble.

Then it is immediately redirected to
    http://avisynth.org/mediawiki/Main_Page
    which seems working fine.

When I connect, the error page presented says:

Avisynth.org server troubles -- temporary page
Database-driven pages are still down. The main avisynth.org wiki and
the new MediaWiki are not working at all.

Look here for updates on server status: http://status.leafyhost.com/

A meta statement immediately redirects me to their wiki page.

Hosts do go down. Hosts in the static route (it's not dynamic) between
you the destination also can go down or become unresponsive. Since you
mention a different route gets you into their site then my guess is a
host in your route is unresponsive. Different route, different results.
I've several times used multiple public proxies to drill into a site to
see which boundary hosts are in the path (do a traceroute) and discovery
which one is defective (if the problem is at the provider's boundary and
not with hosts before their network).

You didn't mention when you tried to connect to the site but it would've
been before you posted, so after another 8 hours after your post they
    are still having difficulties.

You could use the domain registration for contact info, if valid, to ask
them regarding status of their web site. Don't waste time with the
suggested status link since it points to a parked domain (they obviously
haven't bothered to update this error page).

I never got to that page. Thanks for the extra info though.

Thanks for the clues regarding the routing variabilities. When I tried
tracert on www.avisynth.org I started getting timeouts beginning at
route 11. I think I'll just visit the site thru hidemyass.com. It so
    far seems reliable.
