I agree, it *is* an excellent product!

Perhaps *you* should use it too, seeing as you still use IE6. Why *is*
    that, btw, Peter Foldes?

they have seen it but maybe not.

toptenreviews doesn't sell any products, but they do carry advertising
    if that bothers you.

If you click on the 'buy' links, such as webroot's, the link takes you
to the webroot site to make your purchase. Similarly with malwarebytes.

toptenreviews reviews a lot of things besides software; and wins awards
for the site, eg 2010 OMMA
    http://www.techmedianetwork.com/news/9-30-2010.html

That link also has information about other sites produced by
TechMediaNetwork such as science.com and OurAmazingPlanet.

As I'm sure you are aware, 'TopTen' also carried out an initial review
    of MSE, here:-

    http://anti-virus-software-review.to...-software.html

I find it - umm - 'interesting' that MSE is *not* included in the
current review of AV products. Surely it cannot be because the review
site would gain no monetary advantage from Microsoft - could it? ;-)

Have you also told your clients about Microsoft Security Essentials?

    If not - *why* not?

You don't often see payware compared side by side with freeware. Even AV
comparatives uses the pay version of an AV agent to compare with the
others even if that product/agent has a free version.

I think 'that's just the way it's done'. Some other freeware reviews
compare free agents with each other.

If I were selling a payware, I wouldn't like to see my product compared
side by side with a freeware version which did the same thing, perhaps
    better in some facet.

Yes, Mike - I accept that!

So where would *you* go to get an independent view of how well MSE sits
amongst all the other AV and anti-malware software programmes available?

Mr Foldes elected to place his answer in the microsoft.public.test.here
group so as not to embarrass me!

He should, perhaps, have advised - here - that his clients are fully
    aware of
    http://www.microsoft.com/forefront/c.../overview.aspx

Surely he must realise that his major corporate customers (whomever they
may be) employ individuals who will have friends and family who use
*personal* computers too. Surely those individuals have a right to be
kept informed of what Microsoft can (and does) provide free of charge?

My understanding is that small businesses can use MSE. Lots more
    information available here:
