With you, that is very difficult.

Why? *Are* you using a Windows XP computer with Silverlight installed
in Internet Explorer? What would you expect to be served with your Mac?

    I don't have Windows nor Silverlight. I don't see a "download button."

    What "original SP3 link in 24hsh" ? 24hoursupport.helpdesk?

The file comes from * www.microsoft.com * ... That company is not known
for serving malware for system updates.

Why on earth would *I* want to download a *~316 MEGABYTE* file to check
because *you* won't do it yourself? Do your own work.

It really doesn't have to be that way.

    Can we not start over?

No - but I could if I wanted to. Totally irrelevant IMO. You *should* be
able to see exactly the same as me. I'm using my Mac specifically so
that it *cannot* be infected by .exe files!

I suggest that you select the Dutch version (in the centre of the page)
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...8-1e1555d4f3d4

    Is that any better?

    Yes.

I'm not for a moment suggesting that *Microsoft* serves malware.

'Bad guys' who use spoof web pages *do*, though!

If I knew *how* to check the file for authenticity, I would do so. I'm
here asking (no, grovelling!) for help/advice from you or others who may
know how to do so. If you don't wish to help, that's fine but you surely
could point me in the right direction, couldn't you?

I note that you avoided mentioning 'the challenge' ......
    https://www.phish-no-phish.com/default.aspx

Did you take it? If you did, you will have noticed how easy it is to
spoof (copy) the *real McCoy*. All I wish to establish is that the SP3
file posted - for no apparent reason - in the 24hsh group is *real* and
is of no danger to anyone.

My motives are genuine. I simply don't like 'bad guys'! ;-)

No, because you will never change.

Your prime motive is to annoy everyone else using Usenet.

If everyone kill-filed this troll, he probably wouldn't go away but at
least those of us that have kill-filed him wouldn't have to read replies
    to his crap posts.

    BD: Why does 1 + 1 = 2?

    Reply: It's called mathematics.

    BD: Who determines that?

    Reply: Mathematicians.

BD: Why do we trust mathematicians?

    Reply: **** off moron.

BD: I'm just trying to figure this all out.
