Here is the link in question:

    hxxp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displayLang=pt-pt

If YOU test it, and YOU say it's clean, I'll believe you.

    Your call.

Btw, Aardvark says that putting xx's instead of t's (as taught to me by
David Lipman IIRC) does *not* obfuscate a link. Is he right?

That link is a legitimate link from the MS download site. It is the Portugese
translated version of the link which I have already posted to you. You are a
complete fool and a Troll and wastes everyone's time by posting imaginary **** from
    your head

You seem awfully agitated by this Mr Foldes. Please do not let it be of
    concern to you.

Perhaps, though, you are aware of *why* a one-off poster pasted the link
in the newsgroup with not one word of explanation at all. I didn't
imagine it, btw - it's still there for all to see.

I'll await advice from Dustin if you don't mind.

I trust *him* to give me an honest and truthful answer!

There goes you paranoia. The question has been answered by many including Mike
Easter. You do not seem to get it through your thick empty skull that link is a
    bonafide link by Microsoft.
How long do you want to keep asking the same from 3 different groups and umpteenth
number of people before you realize that you are beating a dead horse.

You are nothing more that a Super Troll and a friggin liar, forger and an all around
    idiot of a bad man

No need. Several others in this very thread have already told you it's
    legitimate.

    > I trust *him* to give me an honest and truthful answer!

Fair enough. Why won't you make use of the advice then?

ARGH! It *IS* service pack3 for windows XP- portugese edition.

Not my call; damnit! BD, educate yourself; quit being obnoxious here.

It depends on the client, some "newer" clients are deliberatly de
obfuscating them. Why, I don't know.

    Dustin,

*Did* you *TEST* it to see if there was anything else *with* it, or just
'go with the flow'? I don't care about this for myself, but on behalf of
others. I want folk to be safe - that's all.

Surely that's not being obnoxious in any way. *YOU* are the expert and
*might* just determine something which others cannot. If you confirm
that you *have* done all that you can to double check the link and find
nothing, I'll let the matter drop. I hope that is fair.

I'm trying to smooth our relationship so bring to your attention another
    post on 24hsh <ndWdnVGMion4TFDRnZ2dnUVZ7oednZ2d@bt.com>
where your past comments about Uniblue to me have been mentioned. It's
quite a long thread again now!

The link 'looked' live (blue) in Google Groups (apart from the http://
part, which was grey)) and one can click on the blue part and be whisked
    away to ......

    Not Found

    The requested URL
    /www.microsoft.com/downloads/thankyou.aspx?familyId=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&displayLang=pt-pt
was not found on this server.

The obfuscated link is certainly not 'live' on my iMac!

For the last time. That link from Microsoft for the Portuguese SP3 is a bonafide
link and nothing wrong with it except in your Trolling head. Go away and get a life.

    Many thanks, Dustin!

    Ooops! It's not from Dustin.

OK Peter Foldes. I'll expect no further contact from you. There is no
longer any need for you to read any more posts on this group.

You could do everyone a favor and quit poking his paranoid/stupid arse
with sticks. STOP telling him horse**** and nobody will have to explain
    why it's horse****. Ok?

It used to be somewhat amusing, but now, he's posting nonsense after page
    of nonsense. Please stop.
