    ANN: Multi-AV Scanning Tool v7.03

Multi-AV Scanning Tool v7.03 has been released
    http://www.pctipp.ch/downloads/dl/35905.asp

    Highlights:
    ----------
    * Removed the McAfee module.
    * Fixed a bug in the Trend Micro module dealing with a change in the URL that indicates
    signature version
    * Added the Avira Command Line Scanner
    * Added the Emsisoft Anti Malware Command Line Scanner

The Multi-AV is produced as CareWare (aka; CharityWare).
It is freeware for use *but* if you found it has helped it is suggested (not required)
that you make a donation to a worthy charity.

There are no stipulations for its use for corporations, enterprises or for personal use.

NOTE: The Kaspersky module is planned to be phased out as it loses capability of
    operating under new Operating Systems.

Dave,do you know if this has a GUI,or if it can in some fashion be
skinned? Can anyone suggest how to achieve a GUI or easy to use skin
for M.A.S.T. v.7.03? Thanks to you all.

Since it is based upon Win32 Console command line scanners (except for the Trend Micros
    Sysclean component) not 100%, no.

It is possible, down the road, to incorporate KiXforms but I have no plans to do so right
    now.

Thanks Dave. Just FYI,there are several discussions over at Wilders
Security, with developers of AVs with several AV engines. It seems
that when you use several AV engines, they have to be portable,or they
have big problems, with weight. An alternative seems to be exemplified
by Hitman Pro,which is a cloud scanner. Cloud scanner or portable, its
not installed except for the executable files. Best! Emma.

Thanks David. I used to use Multi-AV quite a bit, but it seemed a little
superfluous to all the other AV and anti-malware software I was using. I'm glad
the McAfee module was removed... never worked for me anyway... or maybe it was
the Kaspersky. I was already using Trend Micro on occasion, so that's a non-
issue. Tell me again, why I ahould use this tool? I'm not being a smartass...
but, like I said before... I'm using resident scanners... so the need for this
    tool is?... Thanks

    Hi Emma:

Have you taken the time to read the included PDF Help File ?

My Mult-AV is semi-portable. It doesn't have a formal installation process but it is
"hard wired" for a fixed location.

It can be installed on one PC, copied to media with all updates, then copied from that
media to an infected computer and executed on the infected computer.

It is a multi-vendor, broad spectrum, On Demand anti malware utility.

It provides you with additional On Demand scanning capabilities to work in conjunction
with a formally installed anti malware solution that provides both "On Access" and "On
    Demand".
