My error. The promotion is for ZA Security Suite. ZA Pro has no AV.

You are correct that Kaspersky provides the AV for the security suite
which has AV (and the ZA AV product), unlike the Pro version.

ZA is now saying that they have turned the alert off.

realized that it was mis-interpreted and have turned the pop-up message off.

This is a graphic of one phase of the alert, where ZA is saying that the
user needs additional protection above ZA free and (at the time of the
alert) that AV protection was not provided by the AVs Norton,
TrendMicro, Free AVG, Avast, or Avira

.... but that the ZA security suite did protect.

And the wikipedia ZA article confirms the Kaspersky relationship for the
ZA AV and also security suite -- but not ZA Pro which has no AV.
