Actually, you tried to swing the topic towards music; but I'm not
    playing along.

    > Which is it? Are you for being a safe driver or not?

According to published statistics, cell phone driving is just as
dangerous as drunk driving. I don't believe you should be driving drunk
anymore so than talking on the phone while your driving, and
overwhelming evidence supports me on this.

I made a comparison. Music is distracting just as talking on a cell phone.

Driving with an distraction is dangerous. Would you agree?

While I agree it is a distraction, it is not the same as talking on a
cell phone. Talking on a cell phone requires more attention than
listening to a radio. as listening doesn't require me to formulate any
    responses.

I'm not playing the game with you Jenn. Drunk driving and cell phone
users are responsible for the majority of accidents.

Do you sing with your music? Then your mind is on something else besides
    driving.

    Driving Research and Statistics
.....when asked to list the top five driving distractions, both teens and
parents reported the same distractions, all of which they said they had done
    within the last 30 days:
    http://www.froedtert.com/HealthResou...andStatistics/

a.. Changing the radio station; tape or CD (79 percent)
b.. Exceeding the speed limit (61 percent)
c.. Driving without both hands on the steering wheel (61 percent)
d.. Talking on the phone (51 percent)
    e.. Eating (45 percent)
    another source......
    http://www.distraction.gov/stats-and-facts/#what
There are three main types of distraction:
Visual -- taking your eyes off the road
Manual -- taking your hands off the wheel
Cognitive-- taking your mind off what you're doing

Distracted driving is any non-driving activity a person engages in that has
the potential to distract him or her from the primary task of driving and
    increase the risk of crashing.
    Other distracting activities include:
    a.. Using a cell phone
    b.. Eating and drinking
    c.. Talking to passengers
    d.. Grooming
    e.. Reading, including maps
f.. Using a PDA or navigation system
    g.. Watching a video
h.. Changing the radio station, CD, or Mp3 player.

Jenn, the research on this has already been done. Radio is a normal and
tolerated distraction. Driving with a cell phone is not.

This has already been provided to you in another thread.

    > a.. Using a cell phone

Which is just as dangerous as drunk driving.
