They do (Emsi Soft) have a resident. Anyway have you deleted the A-Squared Update
file and the other ones (I do not remember their names at the moment) from your Temp
folder. Let us know

A2 Service.
This will load as a NT Service such that malware may be removed even if using a limited
user account under Vista nd Windows 7.
You can run the following command lines to stop and remove the service.
sc stop "a2antimalware"
sc delete "a2antimalware"

SC.EXE does more extensve work with NT Services. NET.EXE can only stop or start a
service. It can't change the configuration or delete a service.

Thanks guys. This took care of it.
Administrative tools (control panel) > services > find the service,
right-click, choose properties > set "auto" to "manual" > apply. On
reboot, the service will not start up until you open A2.
