When I checked for updates my verison 4.2 said there was a version
4.3 available that was not available through the updates and gave a
clickable link to download it. After installing it I checked again for
updates and was told that the 2010-APR-12 was the latest so I was
up-to-date. So the old build did prompt about the new build, at least
it did earlier this morning (Apr 18) on my system.

There probably was an event reminder of sorts and I probably missed it.

Mr Siljaline. I posted a question about "zwarezsitedotcom" in relationship
to new version 4.3 of spy sweeper. I went to their website and they
explained how I could put it in another file which I did. Obviously putting
it in another file eliminates the message but wondered if you knew what
    "zwarezsite dot com" means?
    Thank you

hxxxp://zwarezsite.com/ under Spyware Blaster is an IE Restricted Site.

If you run a HOSTS File, you might want to add that site to your file.

I replied just know to your original query, you did not mention Spy Sweeper.
Check the Forum for Spy Sweeper or check the documentation.

Thank you Mr Siljaline. I shall go to their site and check some more. Of
course one question led to your answer which tells me, what is a HOSTS file.
Is this a program I can download and execute and keeps adwares etc. out? I
use Norton Internet Security, Window Washer, and Webroot Spy Sweeper now.
There appears to be more to this computer stuff than I imagined!

Been there, done that, threw the T-shirt away last year.
Near the end of January 2009 I put out some feelers that I was
thinking about reviving Dad's list. The response was very
underwhelming, in fact it was downright apathetic. How apathetic you
ask? For example, there were 3 total responses on the GRC forums. I
considered trashing the idea right then and there. But I put Dad's
website back up anyway with an updated list and immediately began to
draw flack, much like Dad did, about where I was hosting it.
Dad used free hosts and said if it ever cost him a penny he'd take it
down. Well, I happen to know he paid the fees for no ads after a few
people mentioned them and he kept quiet about it. I guess no one
noticed that suddenly no one was seeing/mentioning the ads any more.
I, also, had paid the no ads fees to my host (so much for free).
I updated it for a couple of months, then just quit and left it
sitting online, unupdated, for another several months. Apparently no
one noticed or cared. So, one day I just pulled it down with no
notice or explanation. Again, no one noticed or cared, because there
was nothing said about it anywhere I could find.
So, sadly, no, I have no plans for wasting any more money or time on
it (there's close to an hour's worth of research for each item added),
but I did feel an explanation of why not was called for...just for the
    record, if nothing else.

    <snip>

I had not seen posts to that effect at GRC, had I seen the announcement
I would have passed it along or at lest look at it.

Sorry to hear of the poor reception of your Father's list.
May he rest in Peace, he seemed like a very giving person.

Regards and best of luck !
