They do (Emsi Soft) have a resident. Anyway have you deleted the A-Squared Update
file and the other ones (I do not remember their names at the moment) from your Temp
    folder. Let us know

    A2 Service.

This will load as a NT Service such that malware may be removed even if using a limited
user account under Vista nd Windows 7.

You can run the following command lines to stop and remove the service.

    sc stop "a2antimalware"
    sc delete "a2antimalware"

Thanks guys. This took care of it.

reboot, the service will not start up until you open A2.

I ran the first one and all kind of crap popped up in cmd window that
I had NO clue what it meant.

I'm not comfortable running cmd prompts, especially since I just
reformatted the computer with W7 a week ago (was running XP).

But thank you for the info!

What does 'sc' mean? I've always used 'net stop' to stop a service from
running and 'net start' to start it running again.
    Example; net stop "Messenger" /Y
    net start "Messenger" /Y
