    IE7 shortcuts do not work

I downloaded IE8 and one program that I use at work requires java and it could not find a MIMI file. I installed IE8 and am back to IE7. Problem is that any internet short cut on my desktop will not open. A box pops up "This file does not have program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the folder options control panel". Any ideas?

    Hi and welcome.
First check that IE 7 is set as the default browser.

If and only if - you are using Xp.
    Windows XP File Assocation Fixes

    Click on.
Folder Association Fix (Restore default associations for File Folders)

Unzip the zip files - double click on the reg file inside.
Click merge when asked for confirmation.
    Restart Pc.

Wow, thanks. I set IE7 as default and all is good. I tried Google Chrome and I could not get my TIFF view to work. I guess it changed the default. I just glad to have it back the way it was. Thanks again.
