nvidia was alone in the gtx 400 vs evergreen dual gpu market.. in fact it was beaten so bad it made them dark forest with rage.
now as history has shown when nvidia gets mad you better be ready for some kind of supernatural force hurling the green logo at you :P
they ORDERED asus to end their only way of saving themselves the MARS II ggtx 480 x2 and took it upon themselves to rain some green fury on the dual gpu market in response.

now their are no true details about this card only what we've heard from an "informant" at a company made aware of this cards existence (not an nvidia AIB)

3 dvi - outputs, 3d vision surround ready
dual gf110 cores (gtx 580 or 570 cores)
a single gtx 580 matches an hd 5970 almost flawlessly but always remains 5fps under it and below it in every bench concieveable
tecnically speaking if this card is as good as it even SOUNDS this baby will take an ARES + an hd 5830 to CLASS!

she has no other known specs beyond the need for 2 8-pin power connector's.. or MORE

rumors persist of 1.5gb GDDR5 or 3gb GDDR5 suggesting a 245-bit memory interface.. but nothing is proven and its all rumor b the looks of it.

now it wont be ready for a long while yet.. their dual gpu we were expecting is set for like may 2011 at which point we will be seeing ati's 28nm hd 7000's coming around the mountain.. the question is.. will it arrive in time?
